I recently tested out the Dynamic Turblo and Turblo+ to see how they hold up for everyday riders and serious cyclists alike. With so many choices out there—traditional hand pumps, tricky CO2 canisters, and now these sleek electric mini pumps—I wanted to know: do they really work? And more importantly, are they worth carrying?
Dynamic Turblo
Right off the bat, the Turblo impressed me with its ultra-lightweight design—just around 115 grams—which fits perfectly in my jersey pocket. It does exactly what it’s supposed to: inflates tyres quickly and reliably.
The tradeoff? It’s a bit louder than I expected, but honestly, it’s a small price for the convenience. The digital LCD is clear, and I loved the auto-stop feature that makes sure I don’t overinflate. Charging is easy with USB-C, and I could inflate about five road tyres on a full charge—plenty for typical rides.
Dynamic Turblo+
Now, the Turblo+ is a different beast. I wouldn’t recommend jamming it into a jersey pocket—it’s bulkier and shaped differently, so carrying it in a bike bag or backpack is best. But for those reasons, it’s great for longer trips or keeping around the home workshop. I was really impressed by how fast it pumped—up to 10 bar (145 PSI) with a much bigger airflow.

The metal body feels solid, and the colour display with big buttons is easy to use even with gloves on. You can save your preferred pressure settings, which is a handy touch if you ride different bikes or tyres. Plus, it doubles as a power bank for charging your gadgets on the go. Yes, it’s another thing to remember to charge, but most of us are already juggling chargers for GPS units, cameras, and computers, so it’s manageable.
Do They Really Work and Are They Worth It?
You may be wondering if there’s any point to electric mini pumps when you could just bring a classic hand pump or CO2 canisters (which I’ve never mastered, by the way!).
My short answer? These pumps work great—really. They save you effort, speed up the process, and provide accurate pressure without the hassle and sweat. For me, they’re a game changer when I’m out on the road or trail.
Pricing Insight
Interestingly, the Turblo+, which has the higher specs and more features, actually costs less in most places right now—around €69.98 compared to the Turblo’s €79.98. That’s a rare pricing twist that makes the Turblo+ a fantastic value.
Final Thoughts and Recommendations
If you want something ultra-light and easy to carry for emergencies, the Turblo is perfect for slipping in your pocket. But if you want power, speed, and versatility with features that go beyond just pumping, get the Turblo+. It’s a great travel companion for long rides or bikepacking trips, especially if you don’t mind a bit more bulk.
Both are solid options, and honestly, once you’ve used an electric mini pump, it’s hard to go back to manual pumping or fumbling with CO2 canisters.
