First Impressions

It’s been a while since I got some new gym kit, so when PRO. Gravel asked me to review something fresh, I jumped at the chance.

I’m a die-hard Nike gym-kit person, so I was intrigued to try the new Pas Normal Studios Balance collection — the Danish brand’s dedicated off-the-bike range built for movement, mobility and recovery.

The first thing I noticed was the material. Super soft, almost silky, with a fit that’s both flattering and functional. The quality is clear — no loose threads, no messy seams.

Fit & Function

The Balance shorts immediately became my favourite. They have built-in liners, which means no accidental exposure when squatting, and the inner shorts actually stay put — no awkward adjustments mid set.

I also loved the earthy tones of the kit. Most of my gym wear is pink, so the more natural, neutral palette felt refreshing. The branding is subtle, stylish and very Pas Normal — confident without shouting.

The long sleeve top is perfect for running or layering up after a session, and the half-zip jacket feels ideal for cooler days or a walk home from the gym.

As for the full-length leggings, they’re silky and snug, offering a second-skin feel — but I did find them a little warm for training here in Spain. For me, they’re better suited to lounging, recovery, or cooler-weather runs.

Ethos, Background & Quality

What elevates this beyond simply “nice gym clothes” is the collection’s intent and heritage.

From the brand site: “The Balance collection is a foundation for movement. Curated pieces for running and training… emphasizing a holistic approach to surfaces and seasons, the collection is created to support movement beyond the bike.”

And via press release: the AW25 Balance drop is described as “a refined expression of form and function… the pursuit of harmony between body and mind, performance and stillness, movement and pause.”

In other words: Pas Normal Studios isn’t treating off-bike kit as an afterthought — they’ve designed Balance as a serious sub-collection. From the aesthetics (minimal, natural palette) to the manufacturing (European sourcing and hand-made quality) the message is clear: this is premium, considered kit.

At €70 for a vest top, this isn’t cheap gear — but it’s ethically made, with the production story and materials backing up the price. The Balance line is built for movement no matter whether you’re running, gym-training or in the recovery zone.

Verdict

You can find cheaper gym wear, yes — but not with this level of craftsmanship or conscience. The Balance collection feels considered, durable and built to last.

If you’re looking for premium off-bike apparel that performs as beautifully as it looks — and you value where and how it’s made — this one’s for you.
